  • Guys, I love the site, and everything here was really interesting, but I have a heck of a time reading some of these. Particularly the “jaywalking” bubble. Why all the effort into these eye-straining graphics? Anyway, keep up the great work on the site! Maybe just some different stylistic choices…

  • In Australia in the 19th century and early 20th century, “slut” meant a female dog. My mother (1909 – 2006) happened to casually use the word in this manner in conversation, and she told me that, in her day, no-one would call a female dog a “bitch”. It was a dirty word.
