Today I found out is a site founded on the precept that it is always good to learn something new every day. It was originally inspired by the wonderful sub-reddit “Today I Learned“, which is one of our favorite subscriptions on reddit.

Today I found out was founded on January 1st, 2010 and is owned by Vacca Foeda Media, which owns/manages a series of sites, including Misconception Junction, which is the sister site of Today I found out.
About The Owner of Vacca Foeda Media
Daven is a 29 year old guy living in the United States, specifically in Washington State. He has a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science, both focusing on Computer Science. He also managed to spend an additional three years in college over the normal amount, taking classes outside of his required course work; these extra classes were in Philosophy, Mathematics, Physics, Latin, Astronomy, History, Literature, and Music; literally going from major to major until the University finally forced him to pick one and stick with it, as he was hitting the end of the “You have to graduate with something after X number of years” limit in their rule book.
During his Masters program, he specialized in distributed computing, robotics, and machine learning. His research project and subsequent research paper was on developing and implementing a robust flight control system for an Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle that could be used with very little modification on a variety of remote control flight platforms. It was eventually published in the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) conference (2008).
Since school, his primary hobbies outside of web work have been studying electrical engineering to boost his robotics skills and reading a variety of business related books.
