Four wings I have,
Which swiftly mount on high
On sturdy pinions,
Yet I never fly!
And tho’ my body often moves around,
Upon the same spot
I’m always found;
And, like a nurse who chews the infants meat,
I chew for man before that he can eat.

I am a precious gift.  I have no beginning or end.  In my heart, I have nothing.

I am home to those who pay no rent
Those who are near me often lament
Most think of me with disdain,
Yet my tenants never do complain

I travel far and wide, through woods, through fields, from home to home, yet though front door’s step I often see, no one ever invites me in.

I am brought to the table, then cut and served.  Yet no one eats me.
