{"id":22088,"date":"2013-06-06T21:34:27","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T04:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/?p=22088"},"modified":"2013-06-06T21:34:27","modified_gmt":"2013-06-07T04:34:27","slug":"full-house-facts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/index.php\/2013\/06\/full-house-facts\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Interesting Facts You Probably Didn&#8217;t Know about Full House"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><div id=\"attachment_22480\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/full-house.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22480\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-22480\" alt=\"Due to copyrights, this is about as close as we could get to an appropriate picture... it was either this or whip out some playing cards and snap a photo of a full house. ;-)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/full-house-340x262.jpg\" width=\"340\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/full-house-340x262.jpg 340w, http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/full-house-640x493.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.todayifoundout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/full-house.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-22480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Due to copyrights, this is about as close as we could get to an appropriate picture&#8230; it was either this or whip out some playing cards and snap a photo of a full house. \ud83d\ude09<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nothing makes you feel older than finding your son watching the very show you watched as a child:\u00a0 <em>Full House<\/em>.\u00a0 Worse is telling him his mother pined away over John Stamos and plastered my walls with his posters as a teen.\u00a0 His response?\u00a0 <i>\u2018That\u2019s creepy, Mom<\/i>.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><em>Full House<\/em> was an American hit TV show that aired on ABC for eight years, (1987-1995), featuring a man whose wife had died, raising their three girls in a house he shares with his best friend and brother-in-law.\u00a0 The show was initially supposed to have a 9<sup>th<\/sup> season on the WB network after being dropped from ABC, but it never came to be.\u00a0 The 8<sup>th<\/sup> season of <em>Full House<\/em> was its last, and many remember the show fondly, minus the annoying laugh track.\u00a0 The show was a hit with our pop culture and still plays on television today.\u00a0 Without further ado, we give you\u00a010 interesting <em>Full House<\/em> facts you probably didn&#8217;t know:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Dave Coulier, who played &#8220;Uncle Joey&#8221; on <em>Full House,<\/em> claims that Alanis Morissette&#8217;s hit song &#8220;You Oughta Know&#8221; was written about him.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coulier and Morisette dated for a brief period in the early 1990s shortly before Morissette began working on her breakout album <em>Jagged Little Pill<\/em>.\u00a0 When Coulier first heard the song on the radio, he said he thought:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Wow, this girl is angry&#8230; Oh man, I think it&#8217;s Alanis&#8230; I listened to the song over and over again, and I said, &#8220;I think I have really hurt this person.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Publicly Morissette neither confirms nor denies the song was about Coulier, but according to Coulier after hearing the song, he called her up and they got together for a couple days to work things out and discuss how to deal with the media, concerning the song.\u00a0 They seemed to have agreed to deny the song was about Coulier, as he himself denied it up until 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Directly before dating Morissette, Coulier got divorced from Jayne Modean, who played &#8220;grown up Michelle&#8221; in one episode in season 3 of <em>Full House<\/em> (<em>Those Better Not Be the Days<\/em>).\u00a0 The two married just four months after meeting on the show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) <em>Full House<\/em> was originally supposed to be a show where a group of comics all lived in the same house.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jeff Franklin, the creator of <em>Full House<\/em>, modified the theme slightly to make it more of a family show when he heard that ABC was looking for a show something in the vein of <em>The Cosby Show<\/em>.\u00a0 When the switch was made, the character that would eventually become Uncle Jesse was made into a musician, rather than a comedian, as had originally been planned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>John Stamos hasn\u2019t watched an entire <em>Full House<\/em> episode in 20-25 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hard to believe, but he stands by the claim.\u00a0 The actor says he flips the channel when the show comes on because he can\u2019t stand the sight of his hair.\u00a0 &#8220;<i>It\u2019s so gosh darn ridiculous. Why Didn&#8217;t anybody tell me that was going to haunt me years later?&#8221;\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Another interesting Uncle Jesse factoid is that the character was originally going to be named &#8220;Adam Cochran&#8221;, but the name was changed to Jesse Cochran shortly before the pilot.\u00a0 After the first season, owing to his Greek heritage, Stamos asked that the last name be changed to Katsopolis.<i> <\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>4) The theme song for <em>Full House<\/em> was co-written and performed by the same guy who helped compose the theme songs for <em>Perfect Strangers<\/em>, <em>Family Matters<\/em>, and <em>Step by Step<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The man was Jesse Frederick who, along with Bennett Salvay, composed all four of those iconic TV show theme songs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> <strong>The Olsen Twins, who took turns playing toddler Michelle, appeared in the same scene only four times in eight years, including the final episode.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sisters made their major acting debut on <em>Full House<\/em> at 9 months, reportedly getting the role as they were the only babies during casting that didn&#8217;t cry.\u00a0 They mostly filmed scenes apart on the show, subbing for the other when it was naptime or when one was too fussy.\u00a0\u00a0You can tell the two apart by the freckle Ashley has under her nose and that Ashley is right handed and Mary-Kate left. The two wore fake teeth at certain points to keep their smiles looking the same as they grew. If you&#8217;re wondering, Ashley is also older by a whopping 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lori Loughlin, who played Becky, was only supposed to be on the show for six episodes.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This changed after producers really liked Loughlin&#8217;s performance and the dynamic between Loughlin and the Tanner girls, providing something of a mother figure for them.<\/p>\n<p>Also, contrary to what is often said in the tabloids, Stamos and Loughlin never hooked up in real life.\u00a0 Loughlin \u00a0says their &#8220;<i>timing was off, and it wasn\u2019t something that entered their minds at the time.&#8221;<\/i>\u00a0 Loughlin was married during her stint on the show, and after she divorced, John found love with Victoria\u2019s Secret model Rebecca Romijn, marrying her, then divorcing six years later.\u00a0 Stamos and Loughlin did manage to marry on-set, and Stamos claims he was her &#8220;first&#8221;&#8230;\u00a0 <em>Tweet<\/em>, that is.\u00a0 She joined twitter in recent months <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LoriLoughlin\" target=\"_blank\"><em>@loriloughlin<\/em><\/a> -Stamos was the first to congratulate her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NBC\u2019s popular sitcom <em>Friends<\/em> was later taped on the same soundstage as <em>Full House<\/em>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, the house used for exterior shots on <em>Full House<\/em> was located at 1709 Broderick Street in San Francisco.\u00a0 The set for <em>Full House<\/em> was at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California.\u00a0 Other things that have been filmed on that same soundstage include <em>Wonder Woman<\/em>, <em>Homefront<\/em>, and <em>Scarecrow and Mrs. King<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Things weren&#8217;t\u00a0always so great in real life, just ask actress Jodie Sweetin, who played middle child Stephanie.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sweetin married a police officer at 20 and soon, unknown to him, became a drug addict, particularly fond of meth, which she eventually used daily.\u00a0 What got her into drugs?\u00a0 She says she was unemployed and bored.<\/p>\n<p>Her drug use led to an ugly\u00a0custody battle over her daughter, where Sweetin found herself\u00a0 limited to supervised visits.\u00a0 She wrote a memoir about her extensive drug use titled <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002SRL3D6\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B002SRL3D6&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=vicastingcom-20\" target=\"_blank\"><em>UnSweetined<\/em><\/a>, where she owns up to using meth, ecstasy and plates of coke.\u00a0 Excerpt:\u00a0 &#8220;<i>I was just so tired. Tired of lying. \u00a0I went back to my hotel room and buried my face in my hands. I couldn&#8217;t keep doing this. It had to end.\u00a0 But, not today.\u00a0 I wiped away tears and finished the baggie of coke.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Eventually members of the cast of <em>Full House<\/em>, including Bob Saget, John Stamos, and the Olsen twins staged an intervention.\u00a0 She later checked into a six week rehab program at Promises Treatment Center and apparently has been clean ever since and is even acting again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In real life Bob Saget uses the \u2018F\u2019 word.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A F#$!ing lot.\u00a0 The comedian and long-time host of <em>America\u2019s Funniest Home Videos<\/em> (1989-1997) talks like a truck driver.\u00a0 If you&#8217;ve not watched one of his stand-up routines&#8230; let&#8217;s just say it&#8217;s a huge contrast from the squeaky-clean, wholesome Dad we grew to know on <em>Full House<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Not everyone RSVP&#8217;s, or goes, to reunions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>John Stamos spearheaded the task of bringing the cast back together for the sitcom\u2019s 25-year anniversary in September of 2012, a gathering attended by everyone except the Olsen twins.\u00a0\u00a0 Not exactly a FULL house.\u00a0 No reason for their absence was given, but chances are they were too busy swimming around in their vault of money- with a current estimated networth of about $300M between the pair- largely from their fashion empire.
